ELKO " A firefighter with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management was arrested early today, accused of assaulting a security guard at a casino resort, the Elko County sheriff's office said.

Christopher John Adams, 30, of Las Vegas was booked on suspicion of battery with intent to commit murder, trespass, malicious destruction of private property and harassment.

Deputy Sean Murphy said Adams, who was recently released from fighting a wilderness fire along the Nevada-Idaho line, had allegedly harassed a cocktail waitress at Cactus Pete's, prompting the security officer to cut off his alcohol consumption.

The security officer asked Adams to go to his room, but Adams put him in a choke hold and took him to the ground, Murphy told the Elko Daily Free Press, and other security personnel and bystanders were unable to pull Adams off of the guard.

A deputy used a Taser to subdue Adams and arrest him, Murphy said.
