Cody Farnworth, a Carson High alumnus and a science teacher at his alma mater, has been named the school's new baseball coach.

Farnworth succeeds Steve Cook, who was not re-hired after last season.

Bob Bateman, Carson's first-year athletic director, said that Farnworth was chosen from nine candidates.

Farnworth played for Ron McNutt when he was a student at Carson.
