The skinny: The Tigers appear to be serious about their passing game as evidenced by Tim Rudnick's 352-yard, three-touchdown effort against Las Vegas. His favorite target was Zach McFadden, who caught 11 balls for more than 200 yards. On defense, the Tigers need to come up with a better effort, however.

GALENA (0-1) AT NORTH VALLEYS (1-0)

Last week: Galena lost to Legacy 26-6; North Valleys blanked Fallon 15-0
The skinny: The Grizzlies played sub-par on both side of the ball in their season-opening loss. Jarrod Faust was the bright spot, rushing for more than 100 yards. North Valleys' defense limited Fallon to approximately 150 yards total offense.

Last week: Dayton defeated Battle Mountain 14-12; Quincy (Calif.) defeated Chester 25-0
The skinny: The Dust Devils' defense played well in the win over Battle Mountain and is expected to get a good test from Quincy, which posted a shutout win last week. Nick Bircheff ran for 137 yards and both Dayton scores last week. Quincy QB Tra Ross is a good runner and thrower and Brodie Plumb caught two touchdown passes last week. Linebacker Cody Cline leads the defense.
