Carson Tiny Mite Silver opens strong

The Carson Tiny Mite Silver youth football team had a solid effort to begin the season on Thursday against the Sparks Steelers in Wingfield Springs.

While the score is not officially kept at the Tiny Mite level, Carson scored several touchdowns.

The Silver defense also showed it was ready by only allowing one touchdown in the first half. Camdyn Meikrantz, Jacob Nichols, Dylan Taylor, Devin Presley, Alexander Robison, Blake Menzel, Jonathan Bates, Thomas Kreider, Hayden Wheeler, Blake Ewing and Justin Kattenhorn all played well defensively. Kreider, Bates, Nichols, Ewing, Meikrantz and Menzel were among those who made key stops.

The offensive line of A.C. Garcia, Justin Kattenhorn, Kristian Jachimiak, Bates and Christopher Jones also proved they were ready. Up front blocking allowed Quarterback Menzel to run for three touchdowns. Menzel had more than 150 total yards. Dillon Skaggs reached the end zone and ran for more than 100 yards. Jacob Nichols also scored on a 6-yard run.
