Sally, age 63, passed away in Carson City after 5-year battle with lung cancer on August 31, 2008. Born November 13,1944 to Lawrence and Pauline (Orlanski) Maltby, Sally grew up in Dearborn, Mich. and graduated from Edsel Ford High School in 1963. Sally married and had two sons, moving to Nevada in 1974. She later divorced and raised her family in Yerington. Sally started her career with the State of Nevada in the 1980's and upon retirement in 1994 she was working as a legal secretary at the Attorney General's office.
Sally is survived by two sons, Vernon Boyes of Carson City, Patrick ( Karen) Boyes of Lovelock, grandsons Tyler Boyes and Thomas Stevens also of Lovelock; siblings, Lawrence (Virginia) Maltby of Boyne Falls Mich. and Della Flatt of Crossville, Tenn., nephew Kenneth (Susan) Maltby of Milan, Mich.; nieces Carol Ann (Kenneth) Chadwell, Crossville, Tenn., Donna (Aaron) Jewel of Hendersonville, Tenn. and grand nephew Seth Chadwell of Cambridge, Mass. and grand niece Aven Chadwell also of Crossville, Tenn. Sally was also loved and will be missed by our extended families in Dearborn, Mich., Boulder City, Nev., Bend, Ore. and Carson City.
My mother requested no public services be held. A family gathering will be held Sept. 17 for the scattering of her ashes. Donations can be made in Sally's name to Vistacare Hospice, 1625 E. Prater Way, Bldg C, Suite 108, Sparks NV 89434.
