Tech bests Nevada

The Nevada Wolf Pack jumped out to a 3-0 lead on No. 12 Texas Tech Saturday night at Mackay Stadium in Reno. However, the Red Raiders took a 7-3 lead after a 86-yard punt return.

Nevada cut the lead to 7-6 in the second quarter but the Red Raiders offense responded with a 1-yard plunge for a 14-6 lead.

The Pack got a field goal as the half was expiring to make it 14-9 at the half.

On the opening drive of the third quarter Colin Kaepernick appeared to score to put the Pack up, however it was ruled he fumbled and Texas Tech took possession. The Pack was able to get a field goal to cut the lead to 14-12 midway through the third. However Texas Tech scored to put the Red Raiders up 21-12 heading into the fourth.

Both teams traded scores in the fourth quarter before Texas Tech put the game away with a 21-yard scamper to finish the scoring at 35-19. Nevada falls to 1-1 on the year and plays at Missouri next Saturday.
