The Carson Senator Junior Pee Wee youth football team opened its season with a 28-0 win over the Sparks Steelers.
The Senator offensive line of Cameron Radtke, John Cavilia, Ramiro Bonds, Josh Merriner, Michael DeBaun, Tyler Ostrander and Nolan Tomasco paved the way for running backs Kaleb Wold, Mathias Willams and Ikela Lewis.
In the first quarter Colby Brown had a 4 yard touchdown run and Josiah Pongasi was able to make his way into the end zone for the extra point. Pongasi capped Carson's next drive with a 1 yard touchdown run and Brown made his way into the end zone for the extra point. Brown's 35 yard run then set up Gage Gunzburg's 6 yard touchdown to Pongasi.
Kyle Gagnon also had a key interception for Carson in the second half. Carson's defense led by Sabian Harting, Tez Allen, Gagnon, Elijah Fajayan, Brady O'Keefe, Jonas Papez, Nolan Hogan, Hunter Wheeler, Jesse Knorzer, Anthony Miguel, Taylor Bourgeois, Shawn Harp, Bradley Moose, Andrew Stricker and Nolan Shine shut the Steelers down by not allowing any first downs.
Pongasi finished the scoring with a 40 yard touch down which was followed up with Kaleb Wold making the extra point to make it 28-0.
The Carson Junior Pee Wees will next play against Fallon at 6 p.m. Friday at Governor's Field.
