TULARE, Calif. " Grief counselors are on hand for students dealing with the death of an agricultural teacher who was attacked and killed by an aggressive bull at the Tulare school district's farm over the weekend.
School officials say 61-year-old Max Corbett died Sunday when the bull charged him while he was herding milk cows. His wife witnessed the attack and called 911.
Corbett was a teacher for 30 years and farm manager for the past 25 years.
According to district officials, a farm employee who went to milk the cows Saturday was charged by the bull but escaped unharmed. He then went to Corbett's home to report that the bull was aggressive. Corbett went to the farm Sunday to handle the milk cows himself.
The bull was taken to a stockyard Monday to be sold for slaughter.
Tulare is about 50 miles southeast of Fresno.
