Team Nevada was started to help any child in Nevada who wanted to compete beyond their typical high school wrestling career. The goal of this organization of coaches from Southern, Eastern and Northern Nevada is to get the kids the coaching and competition that they need to earn college scholarships in wrestling.

On Oct. 3, the organization will hold a grand opening for its new training facility in Reno. This facility came about almost entirely from donations by businesses and the city of Reno.

The plan is to do the same for the Elko and Las Vegas areas. They will hold a poker tournament to raise funds. The money earned goes to send these kids to major wrestling tournaments throughout the year and across the country. They may all live and attend schools from different areas but this is a chance to bring them together and become successful together as Team Nevada.
