The Skinny: This is the Northern 3A opener for both schools. Dayton will finally have the services of Mitch Gilgert, who is coming off a NIAA/school suspension. Gilgert will start at center, and Walker said his presence should help Dayton on both sides of the line. Sparks lost 38-7 to Fallon, ending its win streak at four against 4A schools. Sparks is a predominantly running team. The two Sparks quarterbacks were a combined 1-for-10 against Fallon.
Of Note: Dayton was fleeced twice last Friday. After losing 55-14, Dayton playrs came to find out that many of their personal belongings had disappeared. According to Dayton coach Rick Walker, many of the Dayton players had belongings stolen. Walker estimated that approximately $600 was stolen in cash and merchandise. Walker said the incident is being investigated.
