The Carson High girls golf team looks to be locked in a battle with Damonte Ranch for the fourth and final spot from league player into the Northern 4A Tournament.
Carson finished fourth in Thursday's league event at Arrowcreek, but Damonte took third. The Mustangs have now finished ahead of the Senators in two of the three events so far this season.
Douglas won Thursday's event while Manogue took second. South Tahoe was fifth and Galena was sixth. Galena was playing without its No. 1 player.
For Carson, Chelsea Keating shot a 96, Lindsay Burroughs fired a 104, Whitney Nash shot a 107, Julia Lapham shot a 109, Elayna Shine fired a 111 and Katie Cowperthwaite shot a 117.
"We're doing OK," Carson coach Terry Gingell said. "We're making progress. They're going to keep improving as the season goes on. The girls are playing pretty well."

Douglas (14-0, 2-0) won at Galena 25-21, 21-25, 25-11, 25-15. For the Tigers, Taryn Williams had 10 kills, sikx digs, six points, three aces and three blocks, Jourdan Burke had eight kills, one ace, three points and eight blocks, Megan Mitchell had five kills, 15 points, five aces, 24 assists, two digs and eight blocks, Shannon Dugan had four kills, 14 points, five aces and eight blocks, Emily Lorntzen had three kills amd nine blocks, Jessica Waggoner had two kills, one dig, four points and 20 blocks, Bryanna Schinzing had three blocks, Mysta Townsell had 12 digs and seven points, Mia Townsell had nine digs and one ace and Jordan Marsh added one ace and four points.
For Galena (7-5, 0-2), Kim Naut had eight kills, 11 digs and six blocks, Emily Aguiar had six kills and 11 blocks, Emily Burns had three kills, Bree Crook had 20 assists, one ace and eight digs, Whitney Robinson had one ace and seven blocks, Marina Sauer had one ace and eight digs and Brooke Keever added eight digs.
Douglas won the junior varsity match 25-19, 25-23 and the freshmen match 25-13, 25-10.
