FALLON " People wanting to know a little about Fallon's history while trying to navigate through a maze will have their opportunities on Friday nights and Saturdays for the next month.
For the last 10 seasons, Rick Lattin and his wife, B. Ann, owners of Lattin Farms, have opened up their three-acre corn maze of more than 100,000 stalks of corn to visitors.
The Fall Festival, which also includes the maze, kicks off Saturday at 1955 McLean Road at Lattin Farms. This year's theme represents Fallon's Centennial celebration and 10 fact boards on the city's history are within the corn stalks. The design of the maze this year is a replica of the Fallon Centennial Logo.
B. Ann Lattin said a worker mapped the logo, and field workers created the design in the corn stalks.
The maze opens Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and is also open on October Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the farm hosts Goat Day. The show contest includes the hairiest milk goat, ugliest goat, prettiest goat, smallest goat and longest-horned goat.
Beginning Sept. 27, Lattin said, there will be craft shows each Saturday in October. She also said there will be Dutch oven cookoffs.
The cost for the maze is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 14. Children entering the maze must be accompanied by an adult.
The Goat Day activities are free.
