The Carson Mitey Mite Blue Senators lost a hard hitting game to the Douglas Black Tigers 14-0 on Thursday.
Carson controlled the ball in the first quarter but could not put the ball into the end zone. Carson did score on a nice run by Reed Lequeirca but the play was called back on a penalty.
Carson's offensive line played extremely well against the Tigers' big defenders. The line included Nick Tibma, Sam Wilson, Tristan Martel, Dawson Lamb, Justin Lopez and Wesley Stickler.
Backs Derek Schafer, Jarod Butler, Brandon Gagnon, Luke Myers, Landon Truesdale and Lequerica helped control the ball on the ground against Douglas. The Tigers found the end zone twice in the second half despite a solid effort from the Senator defense.
Once again, Connor Larkin was the leading tackler and was helped by Gavin Bakkedahl, Nick Andreas, Nick Allen, Chase Campagni, Adam Larkin, Brandon Basa, Phillip Lopez, Cody Radtke, Carl Cavner, Daniel Morrison and Jordan Warren. Offensive players Gagnon, Butler, Myers, Shafer and Dawson Breuer also helped out on defense throughout the night.
Carson dropped to 2-2 on the season and will take on Truckee a week from today at Governor's Field.
