Darrell Rasner's last outing during the regular season finale for the New York Yankees was a microcosm of his season.

The 1999 Carson High graduate allowed two runs over two innings in the second game of a doubleheader as the Yankees finished their season with a 4-3 loss against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Rasner pitched a scoreless seventh inning, but allowed a two-run single to Sean Casey in the eighth as the Red Sox took a 3-1 lead. It was the only hit that Rasner gave up, but he got himself in trouble by walking three. Rasner also struck out one.

He was taken off the hook when the Yankees scored two runs in the ninth before the Red Sox went on to win the game in the 10th.
