Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
- Katherine Cecilia Kirby, 46, of Silver Springs, was arrested at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sonoma Street and Saliman Road on a Reno warrant for gross misdemeanor non-sufficient funds. Bail was set at $1,500.
- Martin James Burnham, 21, of Carson City, was arrested at 9:08 p.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of Menlo Drive on suspicion of gross misdemeanor threatening a police officer. Burnham allegedly formed his fingers into a gun and made a shooting sound at a deputy. Bail was set at $2,500.
- A 43-year-old welder from Carson City was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Sunday at Highway 50 East and Humboldt Lane on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, improper U-turn and driving without a valid license. When asked if he had previous DUIs, the man stated he had eight previous DUIs in various states. The deputy was able to determine seven happened more than seven years ago. A DUI in North Carolina in 2007, showed no disposition. The charge for which the man was booked could be upgraded to second-offense if a disposition is found. Bail was set at $1,132.
- A 31-year-old cook from Carson City was arrested at 11:37 p.m. Sunday at Airport Road and Highway 50 East on a misdemeanor Sparks warrant. Bail was set at $557.
- A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 2:46 a.m. Sunday at Roop Street and Hot Springs Road on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving and failure to maintain a single lane. Bail was set at $2,739.
- Bryan Dean Shipman, 50, of Carson City, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of East Long Street on suspicion of gross misdemeanor preventing a victim from reporting a crime and domestic battery. Bail was set at $5,764.
- A 23-year-old Carson City laborer was arrested at 10:44 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Conestoga Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,132.
- Joel David Germain, 39, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 9:20 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Lee Street on suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence and a felony probation violation warrant out of California.
No bail was set
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:
- Fight report at a West Musser Street bar at 1:13 a.m. An arrest was made.
- Parents reported their 17-year-old daughter came home at 2:51 a.m. intoxicated. She was breaking things and being argumentative because her parents caught her sneaking in. The teen was taken to the hospital to be treated for possible "acute alcohol poisoning."
- A mother reported at 2:22 p.m. that her 16-year-old daughter was trying to steal her car and when mother went to call police, the teen unplugged the phone. The mother asked the girl be arrested, and the police obliged.
- A woman reported a visitor at an apartment complex on South Roop Street argued with a tenant over a parking space, then "tried to run over (caller's) pregnant daughter at 3:12 p.m.
- Report of a window shot out of a vehicle in the area of Menlo Drive and Airport Road at 7:50 p.m.
- A woman reported someone stole her purse from her cart at Wal-Mart then used her credit card.
Lyon County
The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:
- Misdemeanor arrest on Silverlace Boulevard in Fernley at midnight.
- Misdemeanor arrest on Highway 50 East in Dayton at 12:39 a.m.
- Misdemeanor arrest at the Dayton Sheriff's substation at 2:35 a.m.
- Misdemeanor arrest on Highway 95 Alternate at Fifth Street in Silver Springs at 12:16 p.m.
- Misdemeanor arrest on Main Street in Fernley at 2:19 p.m.
- A stereo was stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Red Rock Road in Mound House at 3:28 p.m.
