The Carson Reform Temperance club held a meeting on their own hook last night without the aid of Dr. McKenzie, who is absent. General T. D. Edwards, the President, occupied the chair, and Capt. W. T. Hanford was the Secretary of the meeting. The hall was well filled, establishing the fact that the enthusiasm in the cold-water move has not diminished. General Edwards stated that the stone building across from the Capitol will be refitted and placed in a condition for a clubroom.

Saturday as Mrs. Alex Twaddle was driving into town a man with a double team ran into her buggy upsetting it and throwing her to the ground. Mrs. Twaddle was cut about the mouth and got badly bruised up. The man who ran into her was full of bug juice.

Mrs. W. B. Ogden entertained the members of the Friday club yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Ernest Bath made the high score at auction bridge. Present were Mesdames William Lewis; Burd Lindsay, Ernest Bath, Laura Wood, Ruth Kelly, J.G. Wood and Robert Lewis.

Ninety-two pieces of legislation have been signed into law from the 1959 session of the Nevada legislature, including three controversial measures to prevent the sale of milk by-products at below cost, a bill repealing the small loan act, and a bill banning motels and hotels from advertising rates if rooms at those prices are not available.

The city's $1.7 million swimming pool won't be ready this summer, but the ballparks will. For the first time in history, Carson City will have a training pool.

Carson Country residents will get a break from a rash of storms extended winter into spring today. Roads began closing Thursday afternoon in the higher elevations due to heavy snow.
