Scandia Plus Gifts, which has been a fixture in downtown Carson City for 15 years, will close its doors.
Jennifer Shequen, who has owned the store with her husband and parents for the past three and a half years, said they will close as soon as they can either sell off the remaining inventory or find a buyer for the business.
"We have had a lot of medical problems while owning the store that has made it very stressful to keep running," Shequen said. "My mother had some very serious medical problems throughout the first three months of the year and we have finally decided that we just can't spend the time here that we need to."
Shequen said that they are willing to pay a year's rent if someone wants to buy the business for their asking price of $99,500.
"We are doing this because we know that it's been a tough time for business and we want to set the next owners up to be successful," she said.
The store is located at 333 N. Curry St.
