The Carson Senators put on a hitting clinic against Atwater on Wednesday.
They had four players with multiple hits on the way to a 12-2 rout.
Paul Cagle went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs and an RBI. Brett Valley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Matt Rutledge and Tyler Smith had two RBIs a piece.
The Senators scored two runs in the first before opening the game up in the third with six runs.
David Charles picked up the win, going six innings on four hits, one earned run, five walks and six strikeouts.
David Perce pitched the final inning without giving up a hit.
The Senators move to 16-5 overall and are 7-2 in the Sierra League.
Junior Varsity
It took two days to finish, but Reno managed a 9-4 win over Carson on Wednesday in the Bishop Manogue JV Baseball Tournament.
The game was stopped because of snow and cold weather after 1 1/2 innings Tuesday with Carson trailing 4-1.
Nick Domitrovich went 3-for-4, while Sha Bondi and Austin Pacheco added a hit apiece.
Dan Gall took the loss, surrendering five runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Carson is 11-9 overall and plays North Valleys today at 1 at Manogue.
Softball
The Dayton Dust Devils were blanked 8-0 by Fernley at home in softball action.
Melissa Coyle started in the circle for Dayton, giving up six hits and four runs. McKenzie Cole pitched the last three innings of the game with five strikeouts, but gave up four hits and four runs, with just one earned.
Breanne Dehaven went 1-for-3 with a double, Natasha Wells had a double and Lindsie Cross was 1-for-3.
The Dust Devils are 1-6 in the Northern 3A and 4-12 overall. They play at Fernley on Saturday in a doubleheader.
