CHICAGO (AP) - Scott Podsednik and Gordon Beckham had four RBIs apiece and the Chicago White Sox finished with 17 hits Saturday in a 14-4 rout of the New York Yankees.
In beating New York for the third straight game, the White Sox scored six times in the second against A.J. Burnett and added six more in the eighth.
Burnett (10-5), who had won his previous five decisions, twice walked No. 9 hitter Jayson Nix with the bases loaded. He was charged with seven runs and 10 hits in 4 2-3 innings.
Podsednik hit a two-run single in the second and drew Chicago's third bases-loaded walk, off Phil Coke in the eighth. Beckham hit two-run doubles in the second and eighth, and Nix finished with four walks and a double.
John Danks (9-7) gave up four runs and seven hits over six-plus innings for the White Sox.
Rays 7, Royals 1
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Rookie Jeff Niemann pitched eight dominant innings for his 10th win and Carl Crawford hit a two-run homer for Tampa Bay.
Niemann (10-5) gave up four hits and struck out seven in his second career start against the Royals. He threw a two-hitter in a 9-0 victory over Kansas City on June 3.
David DeJesus homered for the Royals, who have lost 15 of 18. Bruce Chen (0-6) gave up three runs and five hits in 6 2-3 innings.
Kansas City is 0-8 against Tampa Bay this season. Mariners 7, Rangers 2
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 622nd career home run and Felix Hernandez pitched seven solid innings to lead the Mariners over the Rangers.
Griffey's three-run shot in the first came off Rangers starter Tommy Hunter, the 400th different pitcher he has homered off in his career.
Hernandez (12-4) bounced back from his worst effort of the season to win for the fourth time in five starts. The right-hander gave up two runs and six hits as Seattle won for the third time in nine games.
Hunter (3-2) came into the game having gone 3-0 with a 1.11 in his last four outings. The rookie allowed five runs and eight hits in five innings to lose for the first time since June 28. Red Sox 4, Orioles 0
BALTIMORE (AP) - Josh Beckett pitched seven innings of six-hit ball for his major league-leading 13th win, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis homered, and the Red Sox cruised past the Orioles.
Youkilis went 4 for 4 with a walk. In the first two games of the series, he's 7 for 8 with two homers, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Newcomer Victor Martinez drove in a run for the Red Sox, who are 10-2 against Baltimore this season. Boston clinched its ninth straight series win over the Orioles and improved to 25-10 in Baltimore since Sept. 23, 2005.
Beckett (13-4) struck out five and walked two. The right-hander is 11-2 with a 2.28 ERA since April 30, and has not allowed an earned run in seven of his last 13 starts. Tigers 4, Indians 3, 12 innings
CLEVELAND (AP) - Ryan Raburn singled in the go-ahead run in the 12th inning and finished with three hits, leading the Tigers over the Indians.
Jose Veras (4-2) walked Placido Polanco and Clete Thomas to open the 12th before striking out Miguel Cabrera and getting Carlos Guillen to foul out to third. Raburn, who came in batting .167 in his last 13 games, lined a 1-1 pitch to right, scoring Polanco. Veras then balked home Thomas to make it 4-2.
Bobby Seay (2-2) worked a scoreless 11th for the win and Zach Miner gave up a run in the 12th before finishing for his first career save. Angels 11, Twins 6
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Kendry Morales, Maicer Izturis and Juan Rivera each homered in the sixth inning and Joe Saunders won for the first time in more than a month to help the Angels beat the Twins.
The rout spoiled the Minnesota debut of Orlando Cabrera, who went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored a day after being traded from Oakland to shore up the Twins' infield.
Cabrera received a loud ovation during player introductions and his first at-bat. But it was an otherwise quiet night for the Twins as the Angels had 18 hits a night after getting a season-high 19.
Saunders (9-6) worked six innings, allowing nine hits and four runs. His previous win came June 24 against Colorado.
Blue Jays 6, Athletics 5
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Aaron Hill hit a three-run homer and Brett Cecil overcame one bad inning to lead the Blue Jays over the Athletics.
Hill also had an RBI single. Trailing 4-3, Hill hit a three-run shot off A's rookie Trevor Cahill (6-10) in the fourth inning.
That was enough for Cecil (5-1), who gave up four runs in the second inning - but retired the next 15 batters.
The loss disappointed a sellout crowd of 35,067 on Rickey Henderson Night. The A's retired the No. 24 for the recently inducted Hall of Famer.
