Fire crews were responding to several lightning-caused fires Sunday.
The Granite Fire which was burning on the west side of Washoe Valley behind The Chocolate Nugget is now fully contained at 2 acres. The fire is under the jurisdiction of the Sierra Fire Protection District with assistance from U.S. Forest Service and BLM personnel.
The Wildcat fire on the east side of Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation had burned 1,000 acres as of 4 p.m. Air tankers, hand crews and engines were responding.
