130 YEARS AGO

Going to Quarter Her: It will be remembered a few weeks ago of the old Mahalo that left for California, leaving her family and about how Franktown Piute Johnson Sides asked the governor for help. Two young bucks found her in the vicinity of Colfax and she is now near Pyramid Lake where she will be tried for infidelity, the punishment of the most barbaric nature. We know of no other case of this type to be held in the state.

100 YEARS AGO

In a Washington news story with the Smithsonian as the authority, the statement was made that more than 4,000 makes of automobile have appeared since the first vehicle in France in 1868. That's an average of 57 new makes a year for 71 years.
