A 25-year-old Carson City mother was arrested Tuesday after her boyfriend came home to find the apartment in disarray and their 3-year-old child alone inside, according to a police report.

The boyfriend called police at 6:45 p.m., initially reporting that he believed his girlfriend had been kidnapped.

He told police she was a good mother and typically kept the house clean, according to the report.

However, deputies reported that while they were at the apartment in the 3000 block of Imperial Way, the woman returned home. Police said she appeared disoriented and slurred her speech.

She allegedly told deputies that her alarm had gone off and she'd left for work, where she is a caregiver. She said she'd dropped her daughter off at daycare.

She later allegedly admitted to taking a sleeping pill and muscle relaxer for back pain, along with "a small line of meth, which she'd received from a friend a long time ago," the report stated.

She told police she'd been clean for four years. Her boyfriend, ex-husband and mother all agreed it was abnormal behavior for her, police said.

She was arrested on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment.
