The shuttering of the Silver Dollar Casino last week is part of the transition to its new ownership, which was announced in April.
Northern Nevada Comstock Investments is planning to complete the sale of the casino from the Wandler family on Aug. 31, according to Scott Tate, general manger for company's casinos in Carson City, which include the Comstock Casino and Cactus Jack's Senator Club.
"These things take time, when you are dealing with different regulatory agencies," Tate said.
The Silver Dollar Club will stay closed for remodeling, according to Tate, with no scheduled date set for reopening.
The company was granted a liquor license on Thursday, and a gaming license last month. Tate said once the sale closes, they will work with their architects on the remodeling plans.
"We are real methodical in our business approach," Tate said. "We don't let the cart get before the horse."
Northern Nevada Comstock Investments also owns casino properties in Fallon, Fernley and Silver Springs, and is in the process of developing the C.O.D. Casino in Minden.
