Good things do come to those who wait. George Abdou Askar, who was waiting to get in on a game of poker, won a $1,141,923 "Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpot" Monday at Harvey's Lake Tahoe. The 42-year-old Oxnard, Calif., resident decided to pass the time by playing the popular slot game.
"I knew I had won right away," said Askar. "If I had been playing poker, I wouldn't have been playing Wheel of Fortune and won."
Askar vacations each August at Lake Tahoe with family. He owns a liquor store and plans to continue working. He said he will use the winnings to purchase a new home.
