This weekend's Antique Tractor & Engine Show has something for everyone.
"It's a big family event," said show host Bill Ramsden. "A few years ago, a man wanted to come to the tractor show but his wife said, 'Why would I go to a tractor show?' So they came at 9 a.m. and made an agreement that they would spend only an hour. She had such a good time, they were still here at 4 p.m."
The 14th annual event is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the Ramsden property on Heybourne Road about a block north of Stephanie Way in Minden.
Ramsden said there have been as many as 200 tractors at the show, including 50-80 antique tractors dating as far back as the 1800s.
The tractor show features parades at 10 a.m. on both days. There are working tractor competitions and kiddie pedal tractor competitions.
Raffle tickets are on sale to win a restored 1950 Farmall Cub tractor and a new Ford pedal tractor.
Tractor feats of strength exhibitions include a tractor balancing platform, horsepower tests with a Baker fan and tractor pulls at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
Antique cars and machinery will be on display at Ramsden's gas station and car museum. Swap meet and vendor merchandise areas will be open for trading and selling.
The tractor show is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Antique Power Club. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children under 12. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Burgers, hot dogs, beer, soda and water will be on sale from the Carson Valley Sertoma Club.
