Nevada Health Centers, Inc. in Carson City is the recipient of $25,000 from the Walmart Foundation.
The foundation awarded the first round of grants in the State Giving Program to 10 Nevada organizations. The total for Nevada is $325,000.
This program addresses unmet needs throughout Nevada communities through quarterly grants, said Aaron Rios, senior manager for public affairs and government relations for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

giving. Organizations that operate under the tax-exempt status Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code are encouraged to apply.
Some of the other organizations in Nevada which received grants this funding cycle are:
•Crisis Call Center (Reno): $25,000.
• Help of Southern Nevada (Las Vegas): $50,000
• National Association for Beginning Teachers (Henderson): $50,000
