LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say three people injured in a boat explosion in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area have been taken to a Las Vegas hospital.
According to the National Park Service, the explosion happened at the Callville Bay Marina fuel dock and was reported at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Seven people from Las Vegas were aboard the boat, and five people suffered burns and abrasions. Two people who were injured, however, declined treatment.
The Park Service says investigators suspect a buildup of gasoline fumes might have caused the explosion but the incident remains under investigation.
The Park Service says the boat was immediately towed from the fuel dock after the explosion.
