For the cost of a $20 raffle ticket, one lucky homeowner will receive custom granite countertops donated by a local business to help a Carson City charity.
Winston and Shannon Seymour, owners of Atomic Stone, decided to get involved after learning about Food for Thought, a local non-profit charity that provides a food bag each weekend for nearly 600 Carson City school children who might otherwise go hungry.
The Seymours will provide the winner with three slabs worth of countertops and backsplash, complete with the removal of existing counters, a new sink and faucet installed and plumbed, a new light fixture, and a free consultation with a certified interior designer.
All proceeds from the raffle sale will go directly to Food for Thought.
The winning raffle ticket will be drawn Sept. 16 at
5 p.m. at Red's Old 395 in Carson City during the Chamber of Commerce monthly mixer. Ticket holders need not be present to win.
