RENO (AP) - A 32-year-old Reno woman has been arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly shooting her husband with a shotgun.
Police say several people called 911 Tuesday morning to report a woman screaming for help in the Somersett area west of downtown, claiming a man was trying to shoot her children.
When officers arrived, they say Belinda Crawford appeared to be under the influence of illegal narcotics.
Investigators say Crawford and her husband had argued earlier that morning at their home. Crawford allegedly shot her husband when the confrontation escalated.
He was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening wounds.
Police says Belinda Crawford was booked on charges of attempted murder, unlawful use of a controlled substance, child endangerment and domestic battery.
