Charges filed in Jaycee Lee Dugard case

El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson has filed a criminal

complaint charging Phillip Greg Garrido and Nancy Garrido with 28 felony

counts stemming from the 1991 abduction of Jaycee Lee Dugard, then 11, from a South

Lake Tahoe street, Pierson announced this afternoon.

The couple is being arraigned at 1 p.m. today in El Dorado County Superior

Court in Placerville.

The felony counts include forcible abduction, rape, sexual assault and

false imprisonment. The maximum penalty is multiple life

terms for both defendants, Pierson said.
