The man accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard maintained a Web site where he claimed he had the ability to speak in tongues and control other's thoughts.
Phillip Garrido, 58, arrested Wednesday with his wife Nancy, 54, on suspicion of kidnapping and conspiracy, claimed God had called on him "to provide a wake-up call that will in time include the salvation of the entire world."
There seemed to be no following of his mostly nonsensical rants, but as news of his blog at voicesrevealed.blog
spot.com became public, comments began pouring in.
"When the voices tell you to kidnap and rape children, it's not God. It's your own criminal self, Mr. Garrido!" one person wrote. "I hope you rot in jail and burn in Hell."
Another said, "There is not a place bad enough for you after what you did to this girl and her family."
In one post, Garrido speaks of addressing the public at U.C. Berkeley to "prepare a platform capable of distributing a knowledgeable awareness that will in time provide a a foundation powerful enough to undermine the ignorance that prevails concerning voices and begin saving lives."
Police were tipped off to Garrido after he was seen at the U.C. Berkeley campus with two young girls.
A background check revealed Garrido was on parole after being convicted of kidnapping and rape in 1976. The two girls were determined to be the 11- and 15-year-old daughters he fathered with his kidnap victim Dugard.
