Kingsbury to Spooner, Sept. 4

With intermittent views of Lake Tahoe, both going and coming, the big payoff is a view of most of the lake at the approximate halfway point.

This nearly level, open area of South Camp Peak is windswept and the view exhilarating. The hiker looks down upon Emerald Bay and scans landmark peaks around the lake.

Galena Falls Loop, Sept. 12

Enjoy a hike toward Mount Rose, stopping at a beautiful waterfall for snacks, then continuing the loop back to the trailhead.

Total of six miles. Please, only children over 10 years old and dogs need to stay home for this one.

Peak Bagging 101, Sept. 14

Hike from Tahoe Meadows to Rose Knob Peak (9,710 feet), on a not-so-terribly strenuous hike to the top with views, and all of Lake Tahoe and Incline Village at your feet.

Mostly on-trail hiking with a fun 15 minute scramble to the final peak. Participants must be able to hike a minimum of 2 mph. Bring lots of water, snacks and lunch.

Dogs are allowed, if they can handle a talus scramble. Six miles total out-and-back, moderately strenuous hike.
