Fontenot wins at

world finals

Paul Fontenot, owner/driver of Slick Racing, won the 2009 International Hot Boat/ Napa Auto Parts World Finals in the Pro Eliminator Class.

The IHBA has been disbanded, and the newly formed Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series has picked up all the former IHBA races, including the World Finals and the World Championship point races.

Fontenot competed in the 8.0 second and 1/34-mile bracket. He beat out 20 racers for the title. The victory put him in fourth place in the points race for the World Championship.

Fontenot was in fourth for the points championship for much of the season. He didn't attend a race in Texas, and that cost him a chance to seriously contend for the points championship.

Fontenot and his crew of Nancy Fontenot, Jim Burkett, Bill Abbott and Missy Lilllywhite would like to thank their sponsors - Percival Construction, Carson Valley Transmissions, Carson Valley CarQuest, and A Sign Shop - for all their support during the season.
