SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A group of students at San Francisco State University have barricaded themselves inside a classroom building to protest budget cuts and fee hikes.

University officials say about 20 students entered the business administration building around 5 a.m. Wednesday, blocked the doors and refused to leave.

Dozens of other student protesters are demonstrating outside the building's entrances.

SF State officials plan to meet with the protesters to hear their concerns.

The university has canceled business classes that were scheduled to take place in that building Wednesday.

At the University of California, Berkeley, several dozen students continue to hold a demonstration at Wheeler Hall that began Monday. UC Berkeley officials say the protest has been peaceful and has not affected classes.
