Firefighters quickly contained a small electrical fire at the Nevada State Museum Thursday morning.

Fire Capt. John Arenson said crews were called out just after 9 a.m. when an employee noticed a small amount of smoke in the south foyer of the old portion of the museum on Carson Street.

Someone inside pulled the fire alarm and the building was evacuated.

Arenson said the "very, very small" fire was contained.

The fire disrupted museum operations for about an hour.
