Beginning Friday, Dec. 18, anyone who wants an H1N1 vaccination can get one, a health department spokeswoman said Friday.
"All the priority groups will be lifted," said Pam Graber, public information officer for Carson City Health and Human Services.
Graber said the first day the health department will issue the free shots to everyone will be Dec. 21, but a number of places in town - such as private doctors and some pharmacies - are offering the vaccine at a cost.
When the vaccinations became available to the public in October, a federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices issued guidelines adopted by the Centers for Disease Control. The guidelines stated only certain high-risk groups, such as pregnant women and infants, could get the vaccine.
