Gov. Jim Gibbons has announced three appointments, including formally naming Matt Maddox to the Economic Forum.
Maddox, chief financial officer and treasurer for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas, replaces Kathy Santoro, who resigned after moving out of Nevada.
That appointment was important since Gibbons has called on the forum to meet and reproject major revenue streams for the state as his administration attempts to deal with the growing budget shortfall.
In addition, he named Valerie Clark to the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners.
She is president of Clark & Associates of Reno, which manages health insurance plans for more than 400 companies nationwide. Before moving into the health insurance industry, Clark was a registered nurse.
Finally, Gibbons named Donna Coleman to the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection.
