A convicted sex offender who served time in prison for having sex with a minor was arrested after he allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.

Dirk Patrick Klinke, 27, was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of violating his parole. He is being held in the Carson City Jail without bail.

According to Detective Dave Legros, the girl's parents awoke just before

1 a.m. Sunday to find their daughter was gone.

Police were called out about 1:40 a.m. The girl returned home at about

2:30 a.m. while officers still were at the house, records indicate.

Legros said the girl initially said she'd gone for a walk, but eventually admitted to meeting Klinke through an iPhone message program and arranging to sneak out and meet with him.

Klinke allegedly picked the girl up near her house early Sunday and took her to the Sarah Drive home he shares with his father to have sex, said Legros. He said the father was unaware of the activity.

Then Klinke allegedly dropped the girl off near her home and she walked the rest of the way.

Legros said charges of sexual assault against Klinke may be filed pending results of the investigation.

According to Arizona Department of Corrections records, Klinke was convicted in 2004 in Scottsdale, Ariz., of sexual misconduct with a minor and attempt to commit sexual misconduct with a minor. He was released from prison in September 2007.

The Nevada Sex Offender Registry has him listed as a Tier 2 offender, which categorizes him as posing a probable risk to reoffend and a threat to public safety.
