Boil water order lifted
A boil water order for residents east of Cheyenne Trail in Stagecoach was lifted Thursday.
Jeff Page with the Lyon County Office of Emergency Management said testing Tuesday and Wednesday determined the water was safe for human consumption.
The order went into effect Monday after a water main break near Cheyenne Trail. Residents of Stagecoach were affected.
The line was repaired Tuesday but officials wanted to complete testing before lifting the order.
Recalled H1N1 vaccine doesn't affect Carson
Carson City Health and Human Services said no lots of the referenced vaccine recalled by Sanofi Pasteur, Inc. of H1N1 pediatric vaccine was shipped to or dispensed in Carson City, Douglas County or Lyon County.
The announcement comes in the wake of an 800,000-dose recall by Sanofi Pasteur of pre-filled syringes of 0.25 mL H1N1 vaccine for children 6 to 35 months old.
The manufacturer is conducting this non-safety voluntary recall of the vaccine because it was found to contain antigen content lower than required potency. The four lots of Sanofi Pasteur vaccine that tested weak were not among those dispensed by Carson City Health and Human Services. Carson health officials assure parents that if their children were vaccinated by the Health Department in Carson City, Douglas County or Lyon County, they have been safely and adequately vaccinated against the H1N1 influenza.
