CHICAGO (AP) - Arena Football One, the new Arena Football league set to begin play in 2010, has completed the purchase of assets from the AFL that folded last year.

The acquisition was made Friday through a bankruptcy court-mandated auction. Arena Football One can now use the team names, trademarks and logos of the former league.

The new indoor league debuts in April in 15 communities, including seven cities that hosted teams in the previous league.

One ownership group, Chicago Gridiron, LLC, has said it intends to adopt the Chicago Rush for its team. The managing partner of the franchise is William Niro, a founding member of the original AFL.
