Redwood Slough, near Tahoe. Dear Appeal: I am only a despised catfish, living up here in a dark and sometimes dirty slough a half mile from the lake. The stage passes by here and Hank Monk lost an Appeal off the seat and it fell so close we managed to reach it. We all read the article on catfish and it suits us. If you can induce Hank to drop a paper now and then, we will get up a club. Yours, a Constant Feeder.

J. J. Quinn, a man who was arrested in Churchill County for selling whiskey to Indians and who was dismissed for the reason of insanity by a federal court was declared insane today by doctors of this city. He will be taken to Reno tonight and placed in the Nevada State Asylum for the Insane. Quinn is an escapee from the Wyoming asylum. The Wyoming institution did not want him back.

Mark Amodei, well known Carson resident, has been appointed city engineer and will be full time. Amodei has 11 years experience as a member of the state highway department.

The Stewart Braves hope to break a losing streak of 17 games when they take on the Carson Senators Friday. The Braves last win against was against the defunct Dayton Haymakers last year. Speedy Terry McCann, Burton Pete, Wilfred Thomas and John Lee will pace the Braves' attack.
