SPARKS (AP) - Long-time Assemblyman Bernie Anderson says he won't run for the Nevada Senate in next year's election.

Anderson, who served 10 terms in the Assembly, is prevented by term limits from seeking re-election to his own seat.

The Sparks Democrat had considered running for the District 2 Senate seat, where Republican incumbent Sen. Maurice Washin-gton also is term-limited.

Anderson is a retired school teacher and chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
