Born Aug. 15, 1935 in LeMars, Iowa to Leo H. Duster and Maxine Curtis, Curtis attended Madison High School and the University of Arizona in Phoenix until joining the U.S. Army in 1956 serving as Honor Guard.
A corporate executive and owner in the title insurance and mortgage banking industry for nearly 50 years in the Phoenix, Ariz., Houston, Texas, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and San Diego, Calf. areas, Curtis and son Scott had relocated to the Carson City area in December 2008.
Curtis and wife Jeannette enjoyed perusing antique shows in search of elusive pieces of their cherished Rose Point crystal and Cibus figurines, boating aboard their 47-foot ChrisCraft Commander "Stacey Lynn" and entertaining family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents Leo and Maxine, loving wife Jeannette Stout and siblings David and Lynn.
Survived by children Bret and wife Lori Duster of Minden; Scott Duster of Carson City; Stacey Duster of Atlanta, Ga. and Stephen Alford of Phoenix, Ariz.; former wife Constance Duster of Carson City; grandchildren Nicole and Caleb Duster of Minden and countless extended family, friends and associates.
Following a private memorial service, Curtis and Jeannette's ashes will be returned to the Earth in the beautiful mountains of Sedona, Ariz.
Family wishes that in lieu of flowers or gifts, support is requested for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
