The Rev. Jerry Cook will speak at Fountainhead Foursquare Church at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday, Feb. 8, at 3690 Highway 395 in south Carson City.

Cook is the best-selling author of "'Love, Acceptance & Forgiveness,' A Few Things I've Learned Since I Knew It All," and together with his wife Barbara has authored, "Choosing to Love, and the Odyssey of a Relationship."

His newest book is "The Monday Morning Church: Out of the Sanctuary and Into the Streets." This book draws from the New Testament letter to the Ephesians and lays out how Christians can be the church not just in buildings on Sunday, but 24/7 in everyday living.

Cook has spent his life in ministry and addresses conventions and conferences throughout the United States and overseas, and also maintains a teaching and church consulting ministry.

A Senior Potluck Luncheon is at noon Monday, Feb. 9 in Chartz Hall at St. Teresa's Church, 3000 N. Lompa Lane, after the 11:15 a.m. Mass.

"Crab Claws for a Good Cause" " St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School's sixth annual benefit is from 6-11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at St. Teresa's church, 3000 N. Lompa Lane. Cost is $40 per person, or $50 reserved table seats of six or 12. An adult evening of live music, dancing and crab, with a silent auction.

First Presbyterian Church " Youth Group meets at 6 p.m. Sunday evenings at the church, corner of Division and Musser streets.

The group is planning at 30-hour famine Feb. 27-28, an event of service and sacrifice. It is also done to raise money to help thousands who die each day without access to clean water and basic medical supplies. For information, call 882-1032.

New officers of the Presbyterian Church " Elder Class of 2011 are George Branson, Todd Butterworth, Ken Jeter, Gladys McKenzie and Mary Lou Pawley.
