The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:55 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:
Highway 395 " Snowtires or chains required for 11.4 miles between East William Street and Winters Ranch in Washoe Valley.
Highway 50 " Snowtires or chains required for 14.6 miles between .7 miles east of the California-Nevada state line and 6.9 miles west of junction Highway 395 at south Carson City.
Interstate 80 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 31.2 miles between Nyack and Central Truckee, Calif. Snowtires or chains required for 6.5 miles between .6 miles west of East McCarren Boulevard and .7 miles east of Mustang.
SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 24.5 miles between SR 28 and Highway 395.
Utility work is being done on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.
Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.
Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.
Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
Weather for the Carson City area for Thursday will be partly cloudy with isolated snow showers. Highs 31-41 with west winds around 10 mph.
Tonight, cloudy with a chance of snow. Lows 17-27 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph after midnight.
Friday, snow likely with accumulation of 1-2 inches and up to 3 inches in the foothills. Highs 28-38 with south winds 10-15 mph shifting to the southwest 10-20 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 40 mph.
