The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:50 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:
Interstate 80 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 58.4 miles between Colfax and .9 miles west of Hirschdale Road, Calif.
Highway 50 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 46.9 miles between 4.1 miles east of Placerville and 4.1 miles west of SR 89 in California.
Snowtires or chains required for 14.6 miles between .7 miles east of the California-Nevada state line and 6.9 miles west of Highway 395 in south Carson City.
SR 341 " Snowtires or chains required for 5.3 miles between .2 miles north of Virginia City and 7.7 miles south of Highway 395, bottom of Geiger Grade.
SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 17 miles between SR 28 and 7.5 miles south of Highway 395.
Weather for the Carson City area today will have scattered snow showers with possible accumulation up to 2 inches. Highs 33-43 with south winds up to 10 mph increasing to 10-15 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight, snow showers likely in the evening then mostly cloudy. Southwest winds around 10 mph in the evening becoming light.
Wednesday, partly cloudy in the morning then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs 35-45 with light winds.
Utility work continues on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.
Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.
Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.
Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
