Tour of Europe, Mr. Carson High coming up

The Native Club will be helping with the upcoming Mother Earth Awakening Pow Wow on March 21 at the Carson Colony community center 2900 South Curry St.

This event will start with a fun run in the morning and the Pow Wow will start at noon. Free Admission and open to the public.

The Native American Advisor's office will host a parent night workshop at the Stewart Head Start building, 429 Delahedah Way, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday.

All parents are welcome. Meetings will be the last Wednesday of the month. Snacks will be provided and educational bingo for prizes.

The annual "Mr. Carson High" competition for all senior male students, presented by the Carson High School cheerleaders, will be 6:30 p.m. March 7 at the Carson City Community Center.

Pre-sold tickets are $6, and those purchased at the door are $10. This is a fun and entertaining event! Call Trish Stephenson at 283-1910 for more information.

Todd Ackerman, Carson High teacher, will be leading a tour of Britain and Ireland in the summer of 2010.

The Carson High School Bowling Team has completed another undefeated season. They finished first in the Mountain Division and are presently in the playoffs.

The championship game is on March 3 at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno at 3:15 p.m. Come out and root on Carson to another championship!

The Northern Zone Nevada Music Educators Association is hosting the annual regional honor choir and jazz band event for students in middle and high school.

Students audition from Northern Nevada including: Carson City, Pershing, Douglas, Storey, Mineral, Lyon, Churchill, Nye and Esmerelda counties.

This year, we selected the best 150 high school and 100 middle school choir students, and 25 high school Jazz Band students to perform in a concert together.

The concert will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson City Community Center. Carson High School, Carson Middle School and Eagle Valley Middle School are some of the best represented schools in these elite ensembles. The concert is free.
