A Dayton woman remained in custody Thursday after she allegedly fired two shots inside her Sequoia Street home, then fought with officers when they arrived.
Heather Williams, 24, was booked into the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of felony battery on an officer by a prisoner, misdemeanor discharging a firearm within a structure, possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic needle and resisting arrest.
According to Lyon County Sheriff's Lt. Jim Cupp, Williams' 73-year-old father was home when his daughter fired a gunshot about 9:30 a.m.
"Her father went to find out what happened, and she told him it was an accident," said Cupp. "Then as he was walking away from her room, she fired another round, and he ran out of the house and came to the substation."
Cupp said officers found Williams in her home and recovered the weapon, but when they put her in cuffs, she allegedly "rammed into a deputy."
"And she got additional charges placed on her," said Cupp.
