Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

- Matthew Gene Ferris, 34, of Carson City, was arrested Friday afternoon at the Downtowner Motel for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale (methamphetamine), felony maintaining a drug house with children present, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Deputies serving a warrant found Ferris in his motel room with three children (twin five-year-olds and a three year old) and several baggies containing a total of 3.2 grams of a white powder resembling methamphetamine, and a pipe used for smoking the drug. Bail was set for $26,632.

- Richard John Malugani, 22, of Reno, was arrested Friday night for felony fugitive from justice for military desertion. An anonymous caller said that Malugani was at a residence in the 700 block of Koontz Lane, and was a military deserter. After contacting the subject, a records check confirmed there was a U.S. Army warrant for Malugani's arrest. He was held with no bail.

- Ricky Guy Baker, 60, of Minden, was arrested Friday afternoon near Fremont School for felony indecent exposure. Witnesses said that Baker was urinating along the path facing the playground of the adjacent school. When a witness made eye contact with the subject, he reportedly began walking away, then turned back to the playground and grabbed his crotch repeatedly as he walked along the path. After officers located the subject, a criminal history check showed he had a prior conviction for indecent exposure. Bail was set for $7,500.

- Randy Ray Stine, 29, of Carson City, was arrested Friday morning in the 800 block of Long Street for felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor violation of a protection order. Subject reportedly tried hit vehicle driven by his ex-wife with his vehicle, forcing her to pull off the road. He also reportedly shouted a threat to. The victim stated she had been in court that morning with Stine when the judge extended a protection order against him. Stine was located at his residence and arrested. He was held without bail.

- A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday night in the 2300 block of Arrowhead Drive for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and for violating probation. After observing the subject driving away from a house known for distributing heroin and then stopping a short distance away, officers contacted the subject, who they knew through previous contacts as a heroin user. Subject's mannerism were consistent with being under the influence of opiates. The subject was also on alternative sentencing for a previous offense. A search found wax paper and a pipe made from aluminum foil commonly associated with heroin use. Bail was set at $4,132.

Lyon County

- Felony arrest on California Street in Yerington at 1:59 p.m.

- Misdemeanor arrest on Main Street in Yerington at 10:38 p.m.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Thursday:

- Report of theft of money caught on tape at 8:14 a.m.

- A 24-year-old dry wall installer from Stagecoach was arrested Friday afternoon at Beverly and Roop streets for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor failure to comply/contempt. A deputy ran a registration check of subject's vehicle and discovered a contempt of court warrant for the owner. During traffic stop, a bag with less than one ounce of marijuana was found. Bail was set at $904

- A 20-year-old inmate at the Carson City Jail was arrested Thursday afternoon for misdemeanor making threats against another inmate. Bail was set for $632.

- A 23-year-old bartender from Carson City was arrested Thursday night in the 300 block of William Street for two misdemeanor failure to appear warrants. Cash-only bail was set at $6,000.

- A 49-year-old federal employee was arrested Saturday morning at the intersection of East Winnie Lane and Lone Mountain Drive for misdemeanor DUI second offense, failure to maintain lane, and failure to obey a traffic control device. A witness reported that the subject was driving on Lone Mountain Drive and failed to stop for the stop sign at East Winnie Lane, and hit a telephone pole. He failed a field sobriety test, and a preliminary breath test came back with a .058 result. Subject admitted to taking prescribed medication and sleeping pills with alcohol. Blood samples were take for evidence. Bail was set at $2,689.

- A 46-year-old unemployed transient was arrested Saturday morning at Telegraph and Harbin streets for misdemeanor domestic battery (second offense), possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and making threats. Subject was accused by ex-girlfriend of demanding money and pushing her to the ground at her residence. As she walked to the Sheriff's office, she said the subject threatened to knock her teeth out if she reported the incident. Once subject was arrested, deputies found a container with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set for $5,528.

- A 29-year-old metalworker was arrested Friday night at Pheasant and Sundance for misdemeanor obstructing an officer, destruction of property, and violating probation. An officer approached a group of people arguing on the street, and the subject and two others ran away. The subject was later apprehended after jumping over the fence of a house and breaking several of the planks. A preliminary breath test showed .085 blood alcohol level, which is a violation of subject's probation. Bail was set at $4,039.

- A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night in the 1100 block of Musser Street for false imprisonment (a gross misdemeanor) and misdemeanor trespassing. According to his ex-girlfriend, the subject showed up at her home after learning she had a new boyfriend, and demanded some property. He then forced his way into the home and prevented the victim from leaving for approximately five minutes. Bail was set at $2,500.
