Bills were introduced in both the Senate and Assembly Wednesday creating a Cancer Drug Donation Program.

SB159 and AB213 would both require the State Board of Pharmacy to create a program allowing people to donate cancer drugs at any pharmacy, medical facility, clinic or provider who participates in the program.

The drugs would have to be in their original, unopened, sealed packages. They would be provided to people who can't afford the drugs they need to combat their disease.

The respective health committees will review the bills.
